March 19th, 2018: Calling Canada Home: Dinner Discussion

Café Collab invites staff, students and faculty members invested in supporting newcomer students* to “Calling Canada Home: A Community Dinner Discussion”. During the dinner, participants will use media pieces made by students who identify as newcomers to start a discussion on how Student Services can better support students with similar lived experiences and needs. If you are a student, this is an opportunity to meet other students, contribute directly to improving support services for newcomer students, and to share your own experiences with staff from Student Services. If you are a staff member, this is an opportunity to learn more about the student experience, meet other staff invested in supporting these students, and help build a more equitable Student Services.

*This includes but is not limited to students who have recently been granted permanent residence, students who have permanently relocated to Canada, students who are refugee claimants, and students with similar experiences.

Accessibility Info: RVC is wheelchair accessible through the entrance for nonresidents. The dinner itself will primarily be discussion based and the media pieces used to facilitate the discussion will be described verbally.

Additionally, facilitators will also be available to assist participants.

Childcare can be provided free of charge with 72 hours notice. If you have any accessibility concerns, please contact us at
